Categories and Awards

At the Desert Trophy Panda, the family spirit and affinity between the participating models are very important, which is why we do not exclude any of its members.

For this reason, in the next edition, we offer you three ways to take part in the **Desert Trophy Panda, **within the RAID Category, either in 4×2 or 4×4, fighting every day for the Overall Classification and completing 100% of the route of each Stage, within the PANDA 169 Category, either in 4×2 or 4×4, with a single route for both types, or within the ADVENTURE Category, avoiding the most difficult sections of each Stage and with a shorter duration, giving you more free time to do some sightseeing, or to experience the adventure in a more relaxed way.

For Classification purposes, we will have four different Categories:

Raid 4×2 (Seat Marbella or Fiat Panda)
Raid 4×4 (Fiat Panda)
Panda 169 (Mixed 4×2 and 4×4)
Adventure (Mixed 4×2 and 4×4)

At the end of the event, there will be one winner in each Category.

Vehicle preparation is completely free, with the only requirement being to have a valid ITV technical inspection on the start date of the event, together with a few minor limitations depending on the type of Panda:

PANDA I BODY TYPE 141 (Seat Marbella or Fiat Panda manufactured between 1980 and 2003):

– Free engine choice with a maximum displacement of 1,300cc.

– Tyres with a maximum wheel size of 14’.

PANDA II BODY TYPE 169 (Fiat Panda manufactured between 2003 and 2012):

– Standard production engine (1.1 MPI, 1.2 Fire, 1.2 8V, 1.4 16V or 1.3 Multijet.

– Tyres with a maximum wheel size of 15’.

However, we would like to point out that major modifications to your vehicles are not necessary, as in most cases they tend to make them less reliable and much more expensive to maintain.

Good tyres, good underbody protection and improved suspension, together with the most important thing, a complete inspection before departure, will be enough to enjoy this unforgettable adventure.

The MANDATORY equipment or mechanical preparation for each vehicle will be:

Tow strap of at least 3 metres and 2 shackles.
Towing attachment points, firmly secured to the front and rear of the vehicle.
Off-road tyres.
2 complete spare wheels (rim and tyre).
Engine underbody protection.
Shovel for getting unstuck in the sand.
Help Flash: Small magnetic flashing emergency or breakdown light, or fixed emergency light, to be placed on the upper rear part of the vehicle during the Stages. Any fixed red light may be fitted, or portable ones can be used, which are very inexpensive and easy to find on the market. *(The V16 model is approved by the DGT and can easily be purchased online or from any specialised automotive retailer). *
Small personal first-aid kit, following the instructions and contents described in the medical section of an information email that we will send before the start of the event.

The OPTIONAL equipment will be:

Metal fuel jerrycan of at least 10 litres.
Fire extinguisher of at least 2kg.

The main objective of our event is to ensure that the greatest possible number of our participants reach the finish line and, as a reward, we have prepared a special souvenir for every Finisher.

Collecting the highest possible number of Finisher awards will be another challenge for the participants, who will see their achievement rewarded periodically.

And of course, there will be a final reward for the winners, with the following PRIZES:

VERY IMPORTANT: «For a Category to be officially constituted and qualify for prizes based on its individual classification, at least 5 classified participants in that Category must finish the event»

«Entry fee discount prizes for the following edition will be applied to the net Entry Fees that the awarded team is actually required to pay and EXCLUSIVELY for the following Edition»

«Prizes are NOT cumulative and cannot be transferred to other teams. They are personal and non-transferable».

Raid 4×2:

Raid 4×4:
